Susan Elizabeth Phillips for answering my fan mail letter and sending me to this great group of writers). I held one of my first book signings at the downtown Barnes & Noble store. Wonderful author Margaret Watson made a special trip to support me. Her smile cheered me. For those of you who don’t know, I spent nearly 8 hours on my feet talking to everyone who walked through the door. I met some wonderful readers—but my feet hurt and my smile wasn’t quite as vibrant at the end of the day as it was in the beginning. If you ever meet an author at a signing—please be kind to him or her—it can be scary for us introverts to be out among real people!

I’ve attended many conferences in the area including: Love is Murder, Spring Fling, The Four Seasons conference and the winter “All for Love” library book sales to raise money for the American Heart Association. Everyone was a blast!

One of my favorite area events was “touring” with cozy mystery authors Denise Swanson and Heather Blake/Webber. We had such fun with the book clubs, libraries and Coal City signings. Those are two classy ladies of mystery. They even inspired me to try my hand at mystery writing. It turns out that I love it as much as I love creating romance novels. Who knew?

Speaking of author events, I always had a wonderful time in SCHAUMBURG at their library. What a supportive group of librarians work at that location (drop by http://schaumburglibrary.org/ or visit in person and ask for librarian extraordinaire, Susan Gibberman). I met many wonderful readers and gave lots of fun workshops at the Schaumburg library.

While we’re on the topic of workshops—I’d love to give one to your book club or writer’s group. Please see my list of workshops and contact me. (And if you need a reference—check with any of the folks I’ve mentioned here!)
